Jesus performed many miracles. Some of them are recorded in the Gospels in the Bible. These miracles (signs) are amazing actions that validated Jesus Christ as God. Moreover, these ‘signs’ indicate that the miracles contain a much greater spiritual truth. While in a synagogue in Capernaum, Jesus cast out a demon out of a man. This miracle has spiritual significance. First, casting out of a demon represents a type of salvation. Second, the location of this miracle is important. A synagogue in then first century A.D. is synonymous with a church today. God reminds us in the New Testament that there are many demons dwelling in the church today.
