Interspersed between these three segments of Bible prophecy (i.e., the Church Age, the Great Tribulation, and Eternity), key events occur as can be seen on the prophecy chart.  For example, the church age is ushered in by the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the formation of the church on the day of Pentecost.  The Christian church was started in Jerusalem.  The church age is prophetically symbolized by the millennium of Revelation 20:1-8, where we find that Satan is bound in the abyss.  The strong man’s is bound while his house is plundered in that Christians are converted and realize the salvation of their spirits.  In fact, the Gospel  of Jesus Christ explodes beginning at Jerusalem, the Land of Judah and to all ends of the earth.  The formation of the Bible is completed with the apostles (those who had been specially called and have seen Jesus Christ).  The Bible ultimately finds its way throughout the world.  However, during the church age, Satan’s ministers still try to impede the Gospel by infiltrating churches and bringing false teaching and false prophecy into the churches. A great apostasy starts at the end of the church age (2 Thess 2:1-3), just prior to the Great Tribulation.

The Great Tribulation is ushered in by the loosing of Satan from his abyss prison (Rev 20:1-8).  At this time, deception will prevail notably through the Antichrist (man of sin) who is powered by Satan’s authority (Rev 13, 2 Thess 2, etc.).  The Abomination of Desolation is placed in the holy place (church). The abomination of desolation (Mat 24:15, Dan 8, Dan 9:24-27, Dan 11) is the presence of Satan and his kingdom within the church (holy place).   This comes in the form of deception and the prevalence of worshiping false gods and idols, just as what happened in the Babylonian Captivity of the Old Testament.  False gods and idols in the 21st century comes in the forms of man’s wisdom, riches and pride (especially greed and materialism).   The church becomes Babylon as the 7th king (head) of the scarlet-colored beast is in place. This is another symbol in Rev 17 of the Antichrist.

The Great Tribulation is ended by the second coming of Jesus Christ.  This results in the final salvation of the soul and the giving of spiritual bodies of the saints.  Also, it results in Judgment Day where the Satanic Trinity and well as the unsaved are judged.  The unsaved souls and bodies are destroyed in hell, while their spirits are sent to an eternity of separation from God in outer darkness.  Eternity features a future of glory and praise of God in the new heavens and the new earth.  There is no fear, no crying, no pain and no evil.
