In Ezekiel 3, God made Ezekiel a watchman of the house of Israel. The house of Israel is a type of the church today. But, what is the meaning for God’s people today? All of God’s people are watchman. They are not told to watch the world. But, they are to watch for wickedness within the church and warn the church of the truths in the Bible. This includes standing for righteousness and the truth of the Word of God. Ezekiel received many visions while in captivity by the Babylonians.
