Gabriel is a very unique angel. Gabriel is not a cherub, nor an archangel. But, Gabriel is one of the only angels to be named. Also, he is the angel that announces both the first and second coming of Jesus Christ to this world. Gabriel appears to Zacharias (father of John the Baptist) and Mary, the human mother of Jesus.
