Prophet

Priest

As the Priest, Jesus Christ is our Intercessor with God the Father. It is by His sacrificial blood that we are saved and reconciled with God. Jesus is the only Mediator and the only way to salvation. He has done all the work necessary to save the Elect from damnation though His faithfulness.

King

As the King of Kings, Jesus Christ is sovereign, His divine power has given His people everything necessary for eternal life and godliness. Because He is King, His people will earnestly desire to obey and serve Him in righteousness.

Olivet Discourse Overview

Jesus Christ spoke the Olivet discourse during the ‘passion’ week. This Discourse is the most comprehensive discussion of the End Times in the Gospels. In particular, the Olivet Discourse provides much prophetic information regarding the Great Tribulation and the Last Day. The Discourse is also a parallel passage to the Old Testament Babylonian Captivity (which is a type of the Great Tribulation). The Babylonian Captivity is extensively discussed in the Old Testament prophets. Therefore, there is much information in the Bible concerning the nature of the Great Tribulation and the Last Day (Second Coming of Jesus Christ and Judgment Day). Parable of the Two Sons – The Saved and Unsaved in the Church

The Parable of the Two Sons reveals important spiritual information. The 2 sons represent the saved and unsaved people in the church today. The first son initially tells his father that he will not work in the vineyard. However, he later repents and goes to work. This first son represents those who were not interested in the kingdom of God, but later repented and became Christians due to the grace of God. The second son is a hypocrite. In fact, he represents a hypocritical leader in the church. He tells his father that he will work in the vineyard, but does not go to work.  In the historical context, the first son represents the tax collectors and harlots. The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard points to salvation. Christians are as workers who expect the reward of eternal life. But, why do all the workers receive the same reward? Many erroneously teach that there are different eternal rewards for Christians. This is a false Gospel. It defies the grace of God.
